Spirulina is an edible 100% plant product (blue-green microalgae) consisting of many cells that form filaments between themselves, which are often spiral. Due to its numerous nutrients, spirulina is considered a complete food with unique characteristics. It contains 55-70% protein, 15-25% carbohydrates, 6-8% fat, chlorophyll, four different molecular forms of beta-carotene and large amounts of phytonutrients, minerals (iron, potassium, magnesium, etc.), trace elements and vitamins E, A, K and B, including vitamin B12.
