Turmeric, or turmeric (scientific name: Curcuma longa [Curcuma longa]) or yellow root, is rhizomatous. It is a perennial herbaceous plant and can reach 1m in height. Regarding its chemical components, it is a group of compounds called curcuminoids, which include curcumin (diferuloylmethane), demethoxycurcumin and bisdemethoxycurcumin. It is mainly used in savory dishes. It is a spice that has its roots in the East. It is used in the cuisines of India, South Asia and the Middle East.
